I
had been wanting to try dog for a long time. In my journeys, dog
was celebrated as a delicious food in many countries. I had near
encounters with dog, but for one reason or another (wrong day
for restaurant, not enough time for preparation, etc.) I hadn't
the pleasure. Fortunately I
met a young man (I'll call him "Bill") from an upscale
family in an upscale town. He considered dog one of the finest
foods available, and I told him of my interest. Bill surprised
me the next day. He brought me a tupperware bowl filled with a
spicy meat soup. We sat and dined together over a homemade dog
soup. The meat reminded me more of beef than chicken. It was dark
and a bit stringy -- and very delicious. I'm looking forward to
another bowl the next time I am in town.
