Is it of God?

How can we tell if a message we receive is from God? One of my former pastors, Rev. Bob Woodfin outlined a test:

  1. Does it Glorify God and Jesus?
  2. Is it scriptural?
  3. Is it freeing or binding?
  4. If it is prophesy, has it been fulfilled?
  5. Does it build up or divide the body of believers?
share, strengthen and develop communities, alleviate human suffering, and seek justice, freedom and peace
